Congratulations to Taylor Martin and Xavier Daniels, the 2015 High Point Central High School Class of 1960 Scholarship winners!

Taylor will attend NC A&T State University and plans to study computer science and play for the Aggies softball team.  Xavier will attend the University of North Carolina – Charlotte and plans to study art & design.

Both are students who have complied with the criteria to be selected –

• High Point Central High School senior
• Good character and citizen
• 3.0 or higher grade point average
• Need based
• School of choice is an accredited, academic school

High Point Central was established in 1897 and serves over 1200 students in grades nine through twelve. It’s diverse student body is composed of a wide range of socio-economic and religious backgrounds with over 36 represented nationalities.

The High Point Central High School Class of 1960 Scholarship Fund was established at the High Point Community Foundation in 2010 by the Class of 1960, led by Dr. Richard Carmichael.  The Class of 1960 wanted to make a visible statement of appreciation to the school which was a very significant and positive life experience for their class.

The foundation is thrilled to be part of providing Taylor and Xavier a great college education.
