| Whereas, | Robert H. McInnis was born 1952, in High Point, North Carolina; and |
| Whereas, | he graduated from High Point High School in 1969 and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1973; and |
| Whereas, | he was the Chief Executive Officer of High Point Bank and Trust that was first established in 1905; and |
| Whereas, | he was the third generation of his family to work at the Bank beginning as a collections officer in 1974 and worked his way up to follow in the footsteps of his Grandfather, Hervie Williard and his Mother, Lynn McInnis, to become President and CEO of the Bank in 1986; Robert was named Chairman of the Board in 1989; and |
| Whereas, | he served as the President of the North Carolina Bankers Association; and |
| Whereas, | he served as the President of the North Carolina Bankers Association; and |
| Whereas, | he was the Chairman of the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, Chairman of the High Point Merchant's Association, President of the Economic Development Corporation of High Point, President of the Kiwanis Club, Founding member of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater High Point, Trustee of the Nido Quebin & Associates Scholarship Foundation, member of the High Point Part¬ners, member of the High Point University Board of Visitors, member of the High Point Chamber of Commerce, member of the YMCA Camp Cheerio Board, member of the High Point University Board of Trustees, member of "High Point First," member of the High Point Regional Health Systems Board, the Hospital Endowment Board, and the United Way of Greater High Point Board; and |
| Whereas, | he was named the 2000 High Point Chamber of Commerce "Distinguished Citizen of the Year;" and |
| Whereas, | he was a life-long supporter of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill "Tar Heels" Sports Programs, and a member of the UNC Parents Council; and |
| Whereas, | he was a man who had a singular passion for his family; he was a devoted husband to Marcella, and loving Father to Lauren, Matt, and Mollie; and he was a founding member of the High Point Community Foundation's first Board of Trustees; he also sat on the first High Point Community Foundation Grants Committee and continued to serve three additional years with great distinction and wisdom. |
