Say Yes Scholarship at HPU Kassidy McFeeley

Classes at the Early College at Guilford, working on her Girl Scout Gold Award, volunteering with Kisses for Kate and practicing for the Science Olympiad don’t leave much free time for Kassidy McFeeley, but that’s just the way she likes it.

When it came time to apply for college, Kassidy put those time management skills to work and scheduled visits to schools. Fortunately, she didn’t have to look far to find a good fit.

“I came to an open house at High Point University to see what it was like, and I really loved it.”

Her acceptance letter came in December; then came the reality of paying for college, and Kassidy knew she had more work to do.

“I started applying to everything, trying to get as much financial aid as I could.”

Say Yes Guilford was at the top of her list. First Kassidy learned she was a finalist for one of five full-tuition scholarships. After an interview and some anxious nights, she learned she was chosen for the award.

“It was absolutely amazing. I was speechless.”

Her family was just as excited for her.

“My mom and I screamed for a while; we were so happy,” Kassidy remembers. “The scholarship is what is allowing me to go to HPU, so I’m super grateful.”

She plans to stay just as busy next year at HPU, majoring in marketing and minoring in psychology. After school she dreams of working with business to improve sustainability, no doubt sharing her tips for efficiency.

“I like to keep my plate full.”
