Donor Advised Funds

Donor Advised Funds give individuals, families, non-profits and for-profits the ability to create funds that are held and managed by the foundation. Donors are able to recommend how and when fund will be granted. Gifts can be made to non-profits, municipalities, schools or churches.

The High Point Community Foundation encourages donors of all income levels to get involved in Donor Advised Funds (DAF). That is why we only require a contribution of $7,500 to establish a DAF, which is less than the national average required by other foundations. Most Donor Advised Funds at the High Point Community Foundation are non-endowed, which allows the donors and advisors to recommend grants from both the income and the principal of the fund, provided the minimum balance is maintained. Other benefits of DAFs include the ability to allow a spouse or child to advise the fund or the opportunity to handle all transactions anonymously. You can make additional contributions to the fund at any time.
