Students First Donors

Students First was established in 2008 by a private donor to support High Point public schools with a challenge to the Community Foundation to grow the fund into a permanent endowment.

The future growth of Students First will depend on individual donors, local businesses and service organizations who want to help cultivate education in the High Point community. The fund is designed to encourage the entire community to give to and become engaged with our public school system and make an investment in the children in our community.

“The needs of students in High Point represent a plethora of issues stemming from poverty to academic pressures to socio-emotional challenges. The Student First Funds seek to support our students through answering the requests our principals deem the most necessary in their particular schools. The HPCF has for the past 12 years focused on education and the desire to make the Student First Fund a viable source of funding to meet those needs. I am proud of the continuing leadership and vision of the Foundation in providing High Point schools the help students‘ need to succeed and thrive.”
